Make a wormery or a birdhouse, have a lemonade sale, construct a telescope, care for a bearded dragon, sew a sock puppet, play math games, test your reaction time, and more. Great vocabulary (e.g., entomologist, vascular system, etc.) is integrated with age-appropriate activities in chemistry, herpetology, ancient civilizations, outer space, construction, sculpture, cooking and more. Every class is different, so students can attend one or all six of the Adventure classes. Please call Kristine at 503.253.3486 for more information. View photos. |
Algebra using Hands-On Equations |
Developed and patented by Dr. Henry Borenson, Hands-On Equations® is a kinesthetic system for learning algebra. Use pawns and numbered cubes to physically represent and solve algebraic linear equations. Hands-On Equations® does more than teach algebraic concepts. It enhances self-esteem through rapid success in mathematics, promotes greater interest in mathematical studies, and provides a solid foundation for later algebraic work. Fun and challenging lessons on different math topics will be included in each day's lessons to provide a needed "alge-break." |
