MATH: CRITICAL THINKING

Among obstacles to math achievement in class and high performance on formal math tests are 1) the interpretation of words and phrases in math problems, and 2) choosing the correct operation(s) to use in solving such problems.

By implementing strategies and techniques learned in this class, students can more easily analyze math problems and logically work their way toward correct answers.

Time will be also devoted to developing problem solving strategies using some of our favorite games such as Muggins and Knock-Out.

Students can bring their math homework, school math books or worksheets to class for application purposes.
